To access your university network drive (H:) and shared drive (I:) from home – Microsoft InstructionsAt-Home Instructions - PC:home– Microsoft Instructions

  1. Download and install the GlobalConnect VPN client from https://vpn.louisville.edu (NOTE: Requires a VPN account:  Please see the article https://uofl.atlassian.net/l/cp/ccuPnFBT to request a VPN account if you don’t already have one)

  2. Connect to the VPN - Right click the GlobalProtect GlobalConnect Globe icon in the system tray and select "Connect"

  3. Open the Windows Explorer. For Windows 8-10, click Start and type " File Explorer" in the search bar.  Open the File Explorer.

  4. For Windows 10, click on "This PC" in the left column and then click the "Map network drive" icon in the Windows Explorer ribbon.   For  For Windows 8.1, click on “This PC” in the left column, click on "Computer" in the top menu and then click on "Map network drive" below the menu.  

  5. Click the "Drive" dropdown and select H I for H I: drive

  6. Enter "\\fileshares.louisville.edu\usr\<userid> Example:\\fileshares.louisville.edu\usr\jandoe01data" in the " folder " field

  7. Select "Connect using different credentials" checkbox.

  8. Enter your Ulink username and password when prompted with "ad\" before your username

  9. Select finish or OK.

  10. Repeat step 4 and 5, except now select I from the dropdown.

  11. Enter "\\fileshares.louisville.edu\data" in the folder field

  12. Select "Connect using different credentials" checkbox.

  13. Enter your Ulink username ULink username as AD\UserID and password when prompted with "ad\" before your username

  14. Select finish or OK.
