SPSS/AMOS for Employees
How to Purchase
SPSS/AMOS (AMOS is only available to employees) license is available for Windows/Mac operating systems through iTech Xpress’ online store. If purchasing after normal business hours, the order will be fulfilled the next business day.
How to License
Once fulfillment is completed, an email with directions to obtain the license code will be emailed to the customer. If media is purchased, it will be ready for pickup or mailed depending upon delivery option chosen during checkout. The software is available under Free Downloads' SPSS category in the online store.
To add the license code to the product, go to the IBM SPSS Statistics folder on your computer and click on the IBM SPSS Statistics License Authorization Wizard. For example, on a PC, you would click on Start -> All Programs -> IBM SPSS Statistics -> IBM SPSS Statistics License Authorization Wizard. On a Mac, go to your Applications folder, open SPSS folder and look for the SPSS License Authorization Wizard. Once the wizard has started, follow the directions given.
Once you have followed the prompts and renewed your SPSS license, you may want to check that everything worked correctly. To do this, simply open SPSS and a syntax window (you can open a syntax window by clicking on File -> New -> Syntax) and type
show license.
Highlight and run this command (by clicking on the right-pointing arrow at the top of the syntax window), and you will see which SPSS modules you have licensed and when the license will expire.
Departmental Computer Labs and Concurrent Licensing
IBM has changed the way SPSS is now licensed for labs. Customers can purchase a concurrent license by calling iTech Xpress at 852-4943 or by email at itstore@louisville.edu and specify the total number of activations (equal to total number of lab computers). The SPSS Concurrent License Manager (Windows/Mac) is a free download from the iTech Xpress online store. This must be installed/configured prior to installing SPSS on lab computers. There is documentation in the online store.
