Malware

Malware is a term that describes any malicious program or code that is harmful to computer systems.  It attempts to invade, damage, or disable computer systems, networks, tablets, and mobile devices, often by taking partial control over a device’s operations.

Some symptoms of malware:

  • Your computer slows down.

  • Annoying pop-up ads.

  • Your system repeatedly crashes, freezes, or displays a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death), on Windows systems encountering a fatal error.

  • Your browser’s homepage changes without your permission.

  • New toolbars, extensions, or plugins in your browser.

  • Your antivirus product stops working and cannot update.
