- GlobalProtect versions 4.1.x and older are not compatible with Apple’s new iOS 12.
- We advise users to delay upgrading to iOS 12 until they have installed GlobalProtect 5.0
- GlobalProtect App 5.0 is now available on the iTunes store, and will fully support iOS 10, 11 and 12.
- We recommend that iOS 12 users uninstall GlobalProtect app 4.1.x before installing GlobalProtect app 5.0 on their iOS endpoints.
- The Older 4.1 version of the GlobalProtect App has been renamed to GlobalProtect Legacy.
Use the following steps to install the GlobalProtect app 5.0:
- Take note of your portal address as you will need to re-enter it on the new GlobalProtect app. It should be vpn.louisville.edu.
- Uninstall previous versions of the GlobalProtect app (4.1.x and earlier releases) from your iOS device.
- Launch the App Store.
- Search for GlobalProtect. The old app has been renamed to GlobalProtect Legacy.
- Tap GET to initiate GlobalProtect app installation.
- When prompted, Install the app.
- After GlobalProtect app 5.0 installs successfully, launch the app.
- A notification dialog appears, Cannot Verify Server Identity.
- Tap Details and make sure that the certificate information matches:
