Please note: Restart the device to prevent any pending Windows updates from interfering with the renewal process.  The new license file can be copied to C:\Program Files\SASHome\licenses folder.


Option 1:

  1. Log on to your Microsoft Windows operating system with a user ID that has local administrator rights.
  2. Verify that all SAS sessions are closed or verify that the SAS expiration message window is closed.
  3. In Microsoft Windows 7 or Microsoft Windows 2008 Server operating environments, select Start ► All Programs ► SAS ► Utilities.
    In Microsoft Windows 8, Microsoft Windows 10 , or Microsoft Windows 2012 Server operating environments, navigate to the Apps list.
  4. Right-click Renew SAS Software and select Run as administrator. If a User Access Control dialog box appears, click Allow. Otherwise, proceed to step 5.
  5. In the Renew SAS Software dialog box, select Browse and navigate to the SAS installation data file (SID file) on your machine. Select the file and click Open.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Verify Products and expiration dates. Click OK.
  8. Verify the folder where SAS was installed.
  9. Click Renew.
  10. If the license renewal is successful, the following message is displayed:

The setinit was successfully applied

 


If it is not successful, the message indicates so and displays the location of the setinit.log file. Review the setinit.log file in a text editor to check for errors.


Option 2:

Try the following steps if Renew SAS Software is not available.


  1. Navigate to C:\Program Files\SASHome\SASDeploymentManager\9.4
  2. Run sasdm.exe
  3. Click Yes to allow this app to make changes to make changes to your device.
  4. Click OK to set language.
  5. Click Next to Renew SAS Software.
  6. Click Next to Select License Renewal.
  7. Browse to the sid/setinit license file.
  8. Click Start.
  9. Click Next.
  10. Click Finish.
