Blackboard - change Notification Settings

Symptoms

Student is not getting instructor notifications in their email - only on Blackboard.  Other students in the class received the notifications in their email AND on Blackboard.

Setting in Blackboard global Navigation Center needs to be changed

 

Resolution

  • Go to your Global Navigation Center in Blackboard.
  • Click on Settings, click on Edit Notification Settings.
  • Click on Edit Individual Course Settings.
  • Click on any class (in this case, ELFH-705-80-4158) you want to change notifications from.
  • Under Settings, click in the intersection of row and column you want.
    For instance, if you want to have e-mails from Announcement Available notification, click in this intersection (check box where E-mail and Announcement Available meet). This should send Announcements to your e-mail.
  • Click submit.
