Dialing Plan
Dialing Local: 7 digit number
Dialing domestic long distance: 1+areacode+number
Dialing International: 011+country code+city code+number
Note: a valid ELD code is needed for international calling.
 Voicemail
Setting up Voice Mail
Press the Messages button.
Enter initial phone password: 12345 followed by #.
From Set Up Options, record your name and greeting, and change your phone password.
NOTE: The system will NOT allow a phone password to be:
your telephone number
the same digits (e.g. 44444)
a sequence of digits (e.g. 12345)
Follow prompts to complete the process.
Accessing voice mail
Press the Messages button.
Enter your phone password followed by #.
Follow the prompts to access your messages.
Accessing Voicemail remotely
Call 852-3435, then press the * key.Â
Enter your ID (your 7-digit phone number).
Enter your voice mail security code or PIN (the same as on the office phone).
Follow the prompt to access your messages.
Voicemail to Email (Single Inbox)
To better manage your voicemail, you can have it forwarded to your email. You will be able to listen to your voicemail anywhere you can access your email. To set this up,
please enter a work order requesting set up of the Single Inbox service. You will need to provide your phone number and email userID to complete this request.Â
Self Care Portal (Self-Service)
The Self Care Portal provides self-service access to set up telephone features such as Call Forwarding.
Note:Â Using Chrome browser (and VPN required if off-campus), go to:
https://ipphone.louisville.edu/ucmuser
Username is your ULink userID
default Password is your 7digit phone number (XXXXXXX)

Most users are set up automatically for access to the portal. If you cannot log in, please submit a work order requesting access to the Self Care Portal. You will need to provide your name, userID, and telephone number. When access is set up you will receive an email verifying your login information.

Call Forwarding
If you are away from your phone working remotely, you can set call forwarding using the Self Care Portal. To access the portal, login as described above.
To set up your phone to forward all incoming calls to another number:
1: Click the Phones tab.
2: In the left navigation pane, click Call Forwarding.
3:Â Click the phone number on which you want to set up call forwarding.
4: Check the Forward calls to: check box.
5:Â From the Forward calls to drop-down list box, enter the phone number to which you want to forward all calls.
6: Click Save.
Note: Please do not alter any other settings through this portal due to functionality restrictions.
Performing Basic Call Functions
Placing a call
Pick up the handset or press the Speakerbutton.
Dial the telephone number.
 Answering a call
Pick up the handset or press the Speakerbutton.
 Managing multiple incoming calls
To answer an incoming call while on another call, press the Answersoft key (this automatically places the first caller on hold).
Use theNavigationbutton to return to the first caller, then press the Resume soft key.
Placing a call on hold
While on a call, press the Holdsoft key. To retrieve a call, press the Resume soft key.
Transferring a call
While on a call, press the Transfersoft key, then dial the third party’s number.
When the third party answers, announce the call, press the Transfer soft key again, then hang up.
If the third party is busy or unavailable, press the EndCall soft key, then press the Resume soft key to return to the first party.
 Making a conference call
While on a call, press the Moresoft key and then the Confrnsoft key.
Dial the second party’s number. When the party answers, press the Confrnsoft key again. Repeat to establish up to six callers.
Joining Calls to Conference
While active on a call, highlight another call you want to join and press the Selectsoft key.
Press theMoresoft key and then the Join soft key. NOTE: Repeat until all calls are joined to conference.
Sending a call directly to your voice mail
Press the iDivertsoft key.
Forwarding Phone Calls from your phone
Press the CFwdALLor Forward all soft key and dial the forwarding number.
To cancel call forwarding: Press the CFwdALL or Forward all soft key.
