Microsoft Stream

Microsoft Stream is an enterprise video service where people in the organization (i.e., the University of Louisville) can upload, view, and share videos securely. The current version of Microsoft Stream (classic) is loosely connected to other Microsoft 365 applications and services. However, videos are stored separately, meaning that users upload videos, manage them there, then link those videos in other places and applications.

The new version of Microsoft Stream (coming on Friday, May 7th, 2021), videos will be uploaded like any other file and will be automatically stored within the UofL SharePoint files platform. Videos across Microsoft 365 (in SharePoint, OneDrive, Yammer, and Teams) will be considered Stream videos, powered by the SharePoint files platform. And just like any other Office file types, Stream videos can be shared with coherent permissions in all Microsoft 365 applications.
