Bitwarden Browser Extension

After Downloading the Browser Extension, Select Extensions and Click on Bitwarden

 Click on the dropdown next to “http://bitwarden.com” and select “self-hosted”

  Enter https://pwmgr.louisville.edu in the pop up and select save.

Then login; Please note: This solution is self-hosted, and you will need to be connected to the VPN to access the vault.

 You can also “pin” your extension so that it is always visible.

A box will appear stating that Device approval is required.  Check the box next to “Remember this device” and select “Request Admin Approval”

Note: SecOps does not receive notifications of these approvals but will be monitoring the dashboards, please be patient while we approve your device.

You will receive this notification when the device has been approved.

If the login prompt asks you to choose between Master Password or Enterprise Single Sign-on please choose Enterprise Single Sign-on

Note: Bitwarden considers any new software + configuration a device, i.e. browser extensions, so anytime you install (or reinstall) a browser or app it will have to be approved each time.

Bitwarden allows users to approve their own devices from the desktop app if “Approve login requests” has been turned on (see “Accessing Bitwarden Desktop App” instructions). Once this has been turned on, you will click “Approve from your device” instead of “Request admin approval.”

Then you will get the following message in the desktop app to confirm your login.
