Accounts - Update Recovery Information

This page is a step-by-step guide on how to update your recovery information in our new self-service portal. Click the button below to update your information. Recovery information is used when you need to reset your password or forget your password. This page also covers how to update recovery information for a service account and how sponsored users can update their recovery information.

 

 

To update your recovery information, follow these steps.

 

  • Enter your user ID, and click “NEXT”.

  • Enter your password, and click “NEXT”.

  • Click the “MY PROFILE” tab.

  • Click the “PROFILE” tab.

 

  • Change your recovery information. You can update your recovery email address, your recovery mobile phone, or both.

  • After updating your recovery information, click “SUBMIT”.

  • After clicking the “SUBMIT” button, a new window will appear. Enter the PIN you received via email (if you updated your recovery email address) and/or via mobile phone (if you updated your recovery mobile phone) in to the appropriate field. Please note that if you updated both your email address and your recovery mobile phone number, you will enter two unique PINs: one for each field.

  • If you updated your recovery email address, you will receive a confirmation message to your new recovery email as well as your University email. If you updated your recovery mobile phone number, you will receive a confirmation text message. If you updated both fields, you will receive both an email and a text message.

 

  • Your updated recovery information will show in your profile under MY PROFILE > PROFILE.

To update service account recovery information, follow these steps.

  • Click the “Update Recovery Information” button above, or go to: https://identity.louisville.edu

  • Enter the service account user ID, and click “NEXT”.

  • Enter the account password, and click “NEXT”.

  • Click the “MY PROFILE” tab.

  • Click the “PROFILE” tab.

 

  • Change the recovery information. The recovery email address, the recovery mobile phone, or both can be updated.

  • After updating the recovery information, click “SUBMIT”.

  • After clicking the “SUBMIT” button, a new window will appear. Enter the PIN received via the service account email (if the recovery email address was updated) and/or via mobile phone (if the recovery mobile phone was updated) into the appropriate field. Please note that if both the email address and the recovery mobile phone number were updated, two unique PINs will be entered: one for each field.

  • If the recovery email address was updated, a confirmation email will be sent to both the service account and the recovery email. If the recovery phone number was updated, a confirmation text message will be sent. If both fields were updated, both an email and a text message will be sent.

 

  • The updated recovery information will show in the account profile under MY PROFILE > PROFILE.

Only the sponsored should update sponsored account recovery information.

To update recovery information, the sponsored user must follow these steps.

  • Click the “Update Recovery Information” button above, or go to: https://identity.louisville.edu

  • Enter the service account user ID, and click “NEXT”.

  • Enter the account password, and click “NEXT”.

  • Click the “MY PROFILE” tab.

  • Click the “PROFILE” tab.

 

  • Change the recovery information. The recovery email address, the recovery mobile phone, or both can be updated.

  • After updating the recovery information, click “SUBMIT”.

  • After clicking the “SUBMIT” button, a new window will appear. Enter the PIN received via the sponsored account email (if the recovery email address was updated) and/or via mobile phone (if the recovery mobile phone was updated) into the appropriate field. Please note that if both the email address and the recovery mobile phone number were updated, two unique PINs will be entered: one for each field.

  • If the recovery email address was updated, a confirmation email will be sent to both the sponsored account and the recovery email. If the recovery phone number was updated, a confirmation text message will be sent. If both fields were updated, both an email and a text message will be sent.

 

  • The updated recovery information will show in the account profile under MY PROFILE > PROFILE.
