HIPAA Security Rule

HIPAA Security Rule training is available on the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) site.  Online HIPAA Security training via Blackboard is no longer available.  HIPAA Security training consists of two modules which are titled:  Basics of Information Security, Part I and Basics of Information Security, Part II.  The modules may be located under the “Compliance – UL Population” category if not viewable under the “HIPAA Privacy” category.

All persons who are required to complete the Privacy and Security lessons must do so within (30) days of their hire date or, if a transfer, their qualifying role assignment.  Department heads are responsible for ensuring all applicable faculty and staff have completed the required training.
