Faculty/Staff

University-owned Computers

• PCs connected to Active Directory will automatically receive EndPoint Protection.
• Tier 1s may use Malwarebytes from the K:\ drive. 
  

Home Use

• Faculty and staff are encouraged to use Microsoft Security Essentials - a free download from Microsoft - on their personal computers.  Please note, Windows 10 already includes Microsoft Defender.
• Security Essentials installation instructions are available online.

Students

• Students using PCs are encouraged to use Microsoft Security Essentials antivirus software, a free download from Microsoft.
• Security Essentials installation instructions are available online.
• Mac users may use an antivirus of their choice from the App Store. (Malwarebytes, Sophos, AVG, etc.)

Retirees

• UofL retirees are encouraged to use Microsoft Security Essentials antivirus software, a free download from Microsoft.  Please note, Windows 10 already includes Microsoft Defender.
