How do I highlight emails from a particular sender?

You can make messages from a particular sender stand out among all your other emails. This can make it easier to see emails from your supervisor, for instance, in a long list of new messages. Follow these steps, starting in your Outlook Inbox:

  1. Click View at the top of your screen.
  2. Click View Settings at the top left.
  3. Click Conditional Formatting.
  4. Click Add.
  5. Give your new rule a name, such as your supervisor's name.
  6. Click Font.
  7. Change the font, size and style (such as italics) however you wish, to create the highlighting effect you want.
  8. Click OK.
  9. Click Condition.
  10. Click From.
  11. In the Search field, type the person's last name. Double-click the person's name from the list below.
  12. Click OK until all windows are closed.

This person's messages will now stand out in your email list.

Note: Conditional Formatting is not available in Outlook 2011 for Mac.
